Operating room renovations and additions

A massive project benefitting the smallest of patients: Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., needed to renovate its existing operating rooms and add four new ORs. And, as with virtually all hospital projects, the work could not impact hospital operations; it had to minimizing noise, dust and debris while maintaining power 24/7.

The two year project required Power Solutions to build out two new 750-square-foot operating rooms and take two existing ORs out of service simultaneously for renovation.

We also upgraded recovery areas and associated space, totaling another 10,000 square feet.

The renovation has significantly enhanced Children’s National’s technological capabilities — adding CT scanners within the operating rooms and other power upgrades throughout the facility.
