Vantage Data Center Buildout

Power Solutions executed the 24MW Data Center Buildout for Vantage Data Centers and General Contractor Whiting Turner Contracting Company – VA21 Project Vanquish in Sterling Virginia. Power Solutions completed the 195,000 square foot buildout from Design Drawing Issuance to Building Turnover in an 18 month period. The Data Center Buildout portion of the job was a very aggressive schedule which consisted of over 200,000 electrician man hours over a 12 month period.

The VA21 building was one of three ongoing large scale construction projects being built concurrently on the campus. Power Solutions overcame the compressed schedule and site logistics by extensively planning and incorporating prefabricated work and material deliveries into the fabrication of a large scale construction project. Utilizing two 12 hour shifts, Power Solutions would complete one task during the first shift to turn over follow up work for the second shift, all of which had to be planned and executed to meet the required schedule. Power Solutions relied on company expertise across all levels to achieve customer satisfaction on the project.

Over the duration of VA21, Power Solutions installed over 225+ miles of wire and 20+ miles of conduit. The project consisted of (17) 4000A Switchboards, Medium Voltage Transformers and 2.75MW Generators, (64) Power Distribution Units, and (30) Low Voltage Panels and XFMRs.

The VA21 Project Vanquish was awarded the 2023 Craftsmanship Award from the Washington Building Congress in the category of Power Generation, Distribution and Switchgear.
