A 70-bed general medical and surgical center, Culpeper Regional Hospital provides critical services to this small but growing area of Northern Virginia.

To replace the hospital’s backup generators, Power Solutions installed new 850-kW diesel generators and brought in new switchgear and associated equipment.

While keeping the power on, Power Solutions kept temporary generators on site as the new permanent generators and equipment were installed and thoroughly tested.

Now all three generators connect to a 3,000-amp switchboard, allowing the system to bring up and shut down generators as needed and to conduct automated testing.

During the one-year project Power Solutions additionally installed new chillers for the existing hospital and for a new building, which also received new 4,000-amp switchgear.
